46 years after Malcolm

A lot of people who say "I AM MALCOLM X" need to sit they azz down. I'm serious.
I can't even compare myself to MALCOLM X.

Nobody has the combination of courage, compassion, intellect, and love for the underdog that our brother El Hajj Malik El Shabazz had.

Not even Minister Farrakhan. And contrary to what some folks believe about me, I still have respect for Minister Farrakhan and do not believe he was DIRECTLY involved in Malcolm's death. I think the people involved will never be exposed because it will pull back the curtains and show who really runs the world.

Malcolm's story was too unique for people to say they could relate to him. He started off as a minister's son, then dealt with the trauma of having his father killed at a young age. He eventually gravitated to   risky behaviors to cover up the self hatred that he had. And then, he became even more confused when he began following a new religion. But the problem was not with the religion. The problem was that Malcolm's gift was so unique, people wanted to use it for the wrong reasons.

Malcolm appeared to be a friend who knew how to balance tough love and compassion. Some moments he was firm, while others he was a charismatic, curious person.

I was born 19 years after he died, but I can tell that he had a good spirit.

His writings, taped lectures and video interviews still inspire me to this day. And he's been gone almost 50 years. But what makes Malcolm so unique that he can't be replicated?

Well, people never grasped what Malcolm's legacy was. He's more than just Denzel Washington in a movie. He represents the struggle that people of color face in embracing a multicultural society while trying to hold on to their roots. It's a tough thing to do, which is why I write this blog under a pseudonym.

I've never met Malcolm, but I feel like I've met Malcolm.

His spirit lives on in all of us who embrace that we are never TRULY FREE until we can speak our minds without risk of having ourselves killed--either physically or professionally.

God Rest Bro. Malcolm.
